Regular Season Round 16: Havirov - Chomutov 2 80-69

1Liga top team - Havirov (15-1) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Chomutov 2 (7-9) 80-69. Havirov outrebounded Chomutov 2 52-32 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by swingman Veronika Szabo (175-2003) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Alena Bacova (168-2002) supported her with 27 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by guard Ema Blahova (173-2007) did not help to save the game for Chomutov 2. Swingman Marketa Loflerova (176-1997) added 25 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Havirov have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Loser Chomutov 2 dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. They share the position with USK Praha B. Havirov will meet Brno B (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chomutov 2 will play against Sokol Nusle and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ZBL just one year after relegation.
